My name is Kayla Akers and I work with people navigating some of life’s most tender and overwhelming seasons, especially during the perinatal period. This includes pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, loss, surrogacy, and adoption. These experiences can be complex and heavy, and you don’t have to move through them alone. I aim to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and able to show up exactly as you are.
Grief and loss are also central to my work. Whether your loss is recent or something you’ve been carrying for years, we’ll approach it with care, at your pace, and without pressure to “move on” or have it all figured out.
I also enjoy working with college-aged adults, individuals who have experienced trauma, individuals in recovery and older adults navigating change. My approach is person-centered, relational, and down-to-earth. I incorporate DBT skills and parts work to offer both practical tools and deeper insight, depending on what you need.
I am PMH-C and IPPE-C certified, and also hold certification in DC:0–5, with a strong foundation in early relational health and attachment.
